| Long distance numbers: | A long distance calling card must be used for all long distance calls.
Follow the instructions for your calling card, then dial 1 + area code + number. |
| Directory Assistance: | Must be dialed as a long distance call. Use a calling card, then dial 1 + area code + 555-1212. |
| Receiving Collect Calls: | You must not accept collect calls of any kind. If an emergency arises, notify our Telephone Center at the earliest opportunity. |
| Other Third-Party Services: | You must not purchase or subscribe to any services which are billed to your apartment telephone number. Beware of telemarketers who may attempt to do this! |
| Last number redial: | Lift the handset and press # # on your touch-tone phone |
| Three-way calling: | Place the first call on hold by pressing and releasing the disconnect button or the flash button on your phone. Wait for three brief tones followed by a dial tone. Dial your second call. When the person answers, press and release the disconnet button or the flash button on your phone. |
| Four-digit dialing: | You can dial most other apartments on the OCT telephone number simply by dialing the last four digits of their telephone number. |
| Call waiting: | When you are using your phone, a short tone signals that another person is trying to call you. You can put one call on hold while handling the second call, or alternate between the two. When you hear a tone, press and release the disconnect button or flash button on your phone. Or you can simply hang up and wait for the second call to ring. |
| Cancel Call Waiting: | Before making a call, press *70 on your touch-tone phone. This is useful when you need to connect to another modem. |
| Call Forwarding: | You can forward calls to another number. Press *72; you will hear three brief tones followed by a new dial tone. Press 9 plus the 7-digit phone number you want to forward calls to. If the phone number is within the OCT phone network, enter just the four-digit number you want to forward calls to. |
| Cancel Call Forwarding: | Press *73. |
| Telephone Help Line: | Call the Telephone Center at 379-3000 (Logan apartments, dial 8 + 379-3000) if you are having problems placing a call, using a feature, or other trouble with your telephone line. |
